Gonstead Technique: A Closer Look

Dr. Trenary takes a full body approach to patient care, systematically checking each joint to make sure everything is working properly.

He uses a hands-on adjusting technique called the Gonstead technique. Gonstead isn’t just about the way Dr. Trenary performs an adjustment. It’s a different way of assessing your condition, using X-rays to pinpoint problems.

The Gonstead technique looks at the vertebrae and the discs on which the vertebrae sit. Using your X-rays, Dr. Trenary can see where vertebrae are not sitting correctly on the disc, which can lead to pain and other symptoms. He can then assess the best way to get the disc back into its proper placement, alleviating symptoms.

More Than Your Spine

Dr. Trenary is also a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). Looking at each joint, he can identify areas of weakness, where the muscle is not properly supporting a joint. After adjusting the joint, you will be able to see how the joint is made stronger — it’s a difference you can notice right away.
